Frequently asked questions
Everything tenants ask us about paying booth rent at Lala's Beauty and Nails LLC. Can't find it? Call [(555) 555-5555] or email billing@lalasbeautyandnails.com.
Getting started
What is this website for?
It's the rent portal for Lala's Beauty and Nails LLC. If you rent a booth or nail station from us, this is where you see what you owe, pay rent from your bank account, turn on autopay, and view your payment history. It is not a store and there is nothing to buy here unless you are a tenant.
How do I get an account?
Accounts are created by the salon when your Booth Rental Agreement starts. You'll get an email invitation with a sign-in link. There is no public sign-up. If you're a current tenant and haven't received an invite, call [(555) 555-5555] or email billing@lalasbeautyandnails.com.
Why do I have to verify my identity before I can pay?
Booth rent is collected by bank debit under a written lease, and ACH network rules plus our own fraud controls require us to know exactly who is authorizing those debits. Every tenant completes a one-time identity verification before their portal access is turned on. It protects you too: nobody can link a bank account to your booth without matching documents. Full details on the Identity Verification page.
What documents do I need for verification?
Three things: (1) a government photo ID: driver's license, state ID card, or passport; (2) your Social Security card; and (3) your three most recent monthly bank statements for the account you'll pay rent from. Bring them to the salon in person, or email them to billing@lalasbeautyandnails.com. Once we confirm everything, your portal invite link is emailed to you, usually within one business day.
How do I sign in?
Go to Sign in. You can use your email + password, or choose "Email me a link" to get a one-time sign-in link in your inbox. The first time you sign in there is no password yet, so use the email link, then set a password on your Account page if you'd like one.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in page choose Email me a link, sign in from the link, then set a new password on your Account page. No reset codes, no waiting on us.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. Everything, including linking your bank and paying, works in your phone's browser. There is no app to install.
Rent and pricing
How much is booth rent?
Rent is set per tenant in your written Booth Rental Agreement and shown on your Overview page. Current rates at Lala's Beauty and Nails LLC typically range from $150 to $350 USD per week (or the monthly equivalent) depending on the station and schedule. All prices on this site are in US dollars (USD).
What does rent include?
Exclusive use of your booth or station during posted salon hours, plus shared facilities: reception area, shampoo bowls, restrooms, Wi-Fi, and utilities. Product, retail, and backbar supplies are not included unless your agreement says so.
When is rent due?
On the due day in your agreement: a weekday for weekly or every-two-weeks tenants (for example, "every Tuesday"), or a day of the month for monthly tenants. Rent is paid in advance for the coming period. Each charge in your account shows exactly which dates it covers.
Is there a fee for paying through this site?
No. Lala's Beauty and Nails LLC covers Stripe's processing cost. You pay exactly your rent amount.
What happens if I pay late?
There is a 3-day grace period after the due date. After that a late fee of $25.00 USD per rental period may be added, and it appears as its own line in your account so you always see what it's for. Repeated late payments can be grounds for ending a lease under your agreement.
Can my rent change?
Only with at least 30 days written notice from the salon, and any change is reflected in your account before it takes effect. If you're on autopay, we also give at least 7 days notice before changing the timing of a debit, as ACH rules require.
Paying rent
What payment methods do you accept?
One: ACH Direct Debit from a US checking or savings account, processed by Stripe. We do not accept credit or debit cards, Cash App, Zelle, Venmo, or crypto through this site. Cash or check can still be arranged at the front desk and is recorded in your account by the salon.
Why bank account only and not cards?
Booth rent is a recurring, fixed amount, and bank debits cost a fraction of what card processing does, which is how we keep rent free of surcharges. It also means your card number is never stored anywhere.
How do I pay?
Sign in, and your Overview shows every charge that's due. Click Pay by bank account. You'll be taken to Stripe's secure checkout, link your bank (see below), review the amount and the ACH authorization, and confirm. If you have more than one charge open you can pay them all at once or one at a time.
How long does a payment take?
ACH is not instant. After you confirm, the charge shows as Processing while your bank clears the debit, usually 1–4 business days. Then it flips to Paid and Stripe emails you a receipt. Your rent is considered on time based on when you submitted it, not when it clears.
What will the charge look like on my bank statement?
It appears as LALAS BOOTH RENT. Some banks show it in all caps or add a Stripe reference number next to it.
Can I pay ahead for several weeks?
Charges are created about a week before each due date, so you can pay the upcoming one early but not several periods ahead. If you want to prepay a longer stretch, ask the salon to add a manual charge for that amount.
Can I pay someone else's rent, or have someone pay mine?
No. The bank account used for rent must be in your name (or jointly held with you), matching the statements you provided at identity verification. That's what lets us prove to the bank that the person authorizing the debit is the tenant on the lease. Payments also can't be split across two accounts in one checkout.
Linking your bank account
How does linking my bank work?
During checkout Stripe opens a secure window where you pick your bank from a list and log in with your normal online-banking username and password. Stripe verifies the account instantly and you're done. Stripe calls this Financial Connections; it's the same technology thousands of apps use. Your login is entered directly with Stripe and never passes through our site.
My bank isn't in the list, or I don't want to log in. What now?
Choose Enter bank details manually in the same window and type your routing and account numbers. Stripe then sends two small deposits (a few cents each) to your account within 1–2 business days and emails you a link to confirm the amounts. Once confirmed, your payment goes through. You have 10 days to confirm before the payment is cancelled and you'd need to start over.
Do I have to link my bank every time I pay?
No. Your bank account is saved to your Stripe customer profile after the first payment, so future payments and autopay use it automatically. You can swap to a different account any time from the Autopay page.
Does the salon see my bank login or account number?
No. We only ever see the bank name and the last four digits of the account. Stripe holds the rest under its own security certifications. We can't look up your balance or transactions.
Is it safe?
Every page is encrypted (HTTPS), all payment collection happens on Stripe-hosted pages, and Stripe is a PCI DSS Level 1 certified processor that handles payments for millions of businesses. Our database enforces row-level access rules so a tenant can only ever see their own records. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Autopay
What is autopay?
Autopay debits your rent from your linked bank account automatically on each due day, so you never have to remember. It's optional. Turn it on from the Autopay page; you'll see the exact amount and schedule before you agree.
When is the first autopay debit?
On your next due date. Nothing is charged the day you enroll. The enrollment screen tells you the exact first date.
What exactly am I authorizing?
Your rent amount, at your billing cadence, until you cancel. The full text is on the ACH Debit Authorization page and is shown again by Stripe when you enroll. Stripe also emails you a copy, which ACH rules require.
Can the salon debit other amounts under autopay?
No. Autopay only ever runs your recurring rent. Any other charge (a late fee, supplies) sits in your account as a separate item that you pay yourself by clicking Pay. It's never auto-debited.
How do I turn autopay off?
Autopay page → Turn off autopay. Per the ACH authorization, allow up to 30 days; a debit already scheduled inside that window may still run. Turning off autopay doesn't end your lease; rent is still due and you pay it manually. See the Cancellation Policy.
What if an autopay debit fails?
The charge shows as Failed in your account and your autopay status shows "past due." Stripe automatically retries a returned debit up to two times over the following weeks. You can also just pay the failed charge manually right away, and link a different bank account if needed. Rent stays due; late fees may apply after the grace period.
Failed payments, refunds and disputes
My payment failed. Why?
The most common reasons: insufficient funds on the debit date, a closed or frozen account, your bank blocking debits from new merchants, or a typo in manually entered account numbers. The reason your bank gave is shown under the charge. Fix the issue, then click Pay again.
Is there a fee for a returned payment?
We don't charge one. Your bank might charge you an overdraft or returned-item fee under its own terms.
Can I get a refund?
Rent for a period that already started is non-refundable, because the booth was held for you. Duplicate charges, wrong amounts, charges after your lease ended, and prepaid periods after a lease ends are refunded in full. Full rules and how to request one are in the Refund Policy.
How long do refunds take?
3–5 business days after approval, sent as a credit to the same bank account. ACH refunds are all-or-nothing (no partial refunds), so if a partial amount is owed we credit your next rent period instead.
I don't recognize a charge. Should I dispute it with my bank?
Please call or email us first. ACH disputes are final, can't be appealed, and immediately cancel your ability to pay from that bank account. In almost every case we can fix a billing mistake and refund you the same day. We'd much rather do that than have your account blocked.
Leases and moving out
How do I end my booth rental?
Give 30 days written notice (email billing@lalasbeautyandnails.com or a signed note at the desk), unless your agreement says otherwise. Rent is owed through the notice period; anything prepaid beyond your end date is refunded. Autopay is cancelled automatically when the salon closes out your lease.
Can the salon end my lease?
Yes, with the same 30 days notice, or immediately for the reasons in your agreement (non-payment, loss of license, safety issues). Prepaid rent past the end date is refunded either way.
I rent two booths. Do I get two accounts?
No, one account. Each lease shows as its own card on your Overview with its own rent, due day, and autopay setting.
Privacy and your data
What information do you keep about me?
Your name, email, phone, booth, lease terms, and payment history, plus the bank name and last four digits of any linked account, and a record of when you accepted the ACH authorization (date, time, IP), which ACH rules require us to keep. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Do you sell or share my information?
We never sell it. It's shared only with the services that run this site: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), and email delivery, plus our accountant or a regulator if legally required.
How long do you keep my records?
Lease and payment records for 7 years after your lease ends, for tax and payment-network requirements. You can request a copy or deletion of anything else by emailing billing@lalasbeautyandnails.com.
Do you use cookies or tracking?
Only a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and Stripe's own security cookies during checkout. No ad tracking, no analytics that follow you across sites.
